The Great Seal Count 2013

The Great Seal Count

The annual Great Seal Count was conducted by the Icelandic Seal Center on Sunday 21st of July. During the day, the coastline of Vatnsnes and Heggstaðarnes was covered by volunteers and staff of the Seal center as together we counted all the seals that could be found in the area. The coastline was divided into smaller areas, so that everyone could chose a suitable distance. Everyone agreed that taking part in The Great Seal Count had been a great experience! The weather stayed fine for us and afterwards participants enjoyed offered coffee, cake and hot soup at the center.

Many thanks to all of you who participated and helped to make this a great event.

If you wish to join us next year, please register your participation by e-mailing us: selasetur@selasetur.is  or dial 451-2345.
